FROM RUSSIA
WITH LOVE
1963

Cameras rolled on From Russia With Love, the second James Bond film produced by Eon Productions, on the 1st of April 1963. Location shooting took place in Turkey, England, Scotland (doubling for Italy) as well as some brief shots of Venice. Of the many production and behind the scenes images, highlights include James Bond author Ian Fleming (28 May 1908 – 12 August 1964) attending filming in Istanbul. Fleming and can be seen walking through the local streets with the production crew. Of note are the numerous stills in the archive of the classic introduction where Bond first meets Tatiana Romanova (Daniela Bianchi). According to Bianchi, Director Terence Young (20 June 1915 – 7 September 1994) had fun and took many takes. This may explain why there are such a large number of images for this scene. David Hurn and Terry O’Neill (30 July 1938 – 16 November 2019) photographed stills for the film.
