ON HER MAJESTY’S
SECRET SERVICE
1969

On Her Majesty’s Secret Service was originally scheduled to follow Goldfinger, but became the one and only appearance of actor George Lazenby in the sought after role of James Bond 007 in 1969. The shoot for the film lasted eight months starting on the 21 October 1968 and completing on the 23 June 1969. The archive shows Lazenby’s screentest and also the press conference at London’s Dorchester hotel where, on the 7 October 1968, the world was introduced to the second actor to portray 007.  Also of note is the extensive promotional material of actors George Lazenby and Diana Rigg (20 July 1938 - 10 September 2020) who appear to be enjoying themselves for the shoots. Stills photographers are listed as Bob Penn (8 May 1925 – 10 April 2002) and George Whitear. Additional stills by Terry O'Neill (30 July 1938 - 16 November 2019).
