DIE ANOTHER DAY 2002

The James Bond series reached forty years of age with the release of the twentieth Bond blockbuster Die Another Day in 2002. The film was premiered in Los Angeles at the Shrine Auditorium on the 11 November 2002. However, the world royal premiere was later held at London’s Royal Albert Hall on the 18 November 2002. This was the first time the Albert Hall had been used for the world premiere of a Bond film; traditionally Bond premieres had been held at London’s Odeon Leicester Square. Aside from cast and crew, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth was in attendance, as well as previous 007 actors George Lazenby, Roger Moore (14 October 1927 - 23 May 2017) and Timothy Dalton. Photographs of both these events can be seen in the bonus section of this archive. The films images presented here are perhaps notable for showcasing production designer Peter Lamont’s tremendous giant ice palace set and actress Halle Berry emerging from the sea in an orange bikini. This was a homage to Ursula Andress and her iconic appearance in Dr No (1962). Stills photographers credited as Keith Hamshere and for second unit Jay Maidment and Susie Allnut. Additional stills by Greg Williams. Special contributions to this section of the archive are from Laurent Perriot.
